Based on current time table, there are 2 possible bus routes from the Hawthorne Suites to the Illini Union in the mornings.

1. Taking the 14 East Navy from "Fox & State" to the Transit Plaza.

- 14E East Navy only operates in early mornings. 

- based on current time table, the bus stops at 7:37am, 8:27am, and 9:12am.

2. Taking the 9 Brown from "Fox & State" to the Transit Plaza.

- This bus operates every 30 minutes.

- Based on current time table, 9 Brown stops at 8:06am, 8:36am, and 9:06am, and every 30 minutes after that.

From the transit plaza, it is then a very short walk to the Illini Union:

To return from the Illini Union to the Hawthorne Suites:

Bus route back to the hotel: There is only 1 route; 100 South Yellow.

Take the 100 South Yellow at the Transit Plaza and get off at the State & Trade Center Dr. station.

The bus departs the Transit Plaza at 8:28pm, 8:58pm, 9:28pm, 9:58pm, and 10:28pm.

Taxi

You can contact any certified taxi service shown in this link to easily get to/from the Hawthorne Suites and the Illini Union.

Car

Another option is to drive from the Hawthorne Suites to the Illini Union. Parking is along the streets at meters, and is $.75 per hour, for a two hour maximum. Thus, you will need to ‘feed’ the meter with quarters throughout the day.

Walking

It is 1.8 miles from the Hawthorne Suites to the Illini Union, with a pleasant walk through the heart of campus:
